Day 3: June 23rd, Falconera - Lignano Sabbiadoro

weather - no wind to speak of, started grey, steady rain set in later in the day.
water - start in lagoon (after a quick lesson on fishing with a big square net, little fish call laterini, tiny gelationus and mottled, seem too small to eat..)

tidal currents surprisingly strong, fisherman from Devon, canal where the water changes to icy cold and the blue grey colour of glacial melt, enter river Tagliamento, struggle against the current, tidal locks, these were open.

Move into Marano lagoon, water changes again, vast open space where flat silver water melts into the sky.

Drizzle becoming heavy rain, find a place to leave boats in Lignano marina, squelch into town to meet the support crew. Shock of seaside town with huge array of unecessary shops after 3 days o the water.
